Sue Conklin - Director of Music

Sue is a local Otisville resident who has been our Director of Music for seven years.  She is a very talented young lady and, as a Board Certified Music therapist, works at the Elant Senior Center in Goshen, NY.  She brings years of vocal and instrumental experience to the musically inclined of our congregation.  Sue and her multi-talented husband, Mike, have helped to develop a very strong musical program here at Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian church.

Join the fun!

Our musical, instrumental, and singing opportunities are many and varied for the beginner as well as the accomplished.  Everyone is welcome.  If you like to sing and/or play music this is the place for you because "music is  our congregation's heartbeat!"  If you want to know more, just ask any of our choir members how you can participate or call our church office at 386-3851.

Our choirs, schedule, and times we practice:

The "Sunshine" choir is for children age three to 2nd grade.  The have a really nice leader, Allison Wilbur.  Practices during church time.

Our "Celebration Choir" led by Sheila Moore is for children from 2nd grade to Jr. High.  Practices during church time.

The "Contemporary Choir" - our biggest choir , also called "the no rules" choir is one fun group.  Don't worry about make a mistake here because these 25 vocalists will cover for you.   They  sing together with enthusiasm, energy, and lots of heart.  The CC sings a broad variety of contemporary musical styles.  This is a very powerful choir and we always welcome more voices.  No invitation needed, just show up for practice....Sunday evenings at 6:30 and you will be heartily welcomed.

The "Classical Choir" is a little more selective in that it is for people who can read music.  The song selections, often traditional, are a little more challenging.  If you are a vocalist with a little background and training, you will enjoy being part of the classical group.  Practices are held Sunday evenings at 7:30.

Our "Bell Choir", for the instrumentally inclined who enjoy the sound of hand bells played in coordinated rhythms.  The Bell Choir plays and practices for special events through the year.

The "Mass Choir" - the Mass choir is a powerful blend of all of our choirs.  It includes some people in the congregation who are not always available to practice in the other choirs but love to join in when they can.  We have many beautiful voices who welcome these "special event" singing opportunities, and you might too.  No invitation needed, just come.  Rehearsals TBA.

Solos, duets, trios and ensembles are also presented by the many talented church members and guests especially during the summer months.
